New Hope & Ivyland 40 is a 2-8-0 consolidation type steam locomotive.
- 40 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive works in 1925. She first worked on the Lancaster & Chester Railway of Lancaster, South Carolina. There she hauled textiles from cotton mills along the line. In 1947 she was sold to the Cliffside Railroad in North Carolina. She also hauled textiles during her career at the Cliffside. She was then purchased from the New Hope & Ivyland of New Hope Pa in 1962 she first did service there in 1967 & later in 1974 until the mid 1980s when she was taken out of service. She returned to service in 1991 & has been hauling trains there ever since.
